Although palm reflexology has been practiced for many years in China and Ancient Egypt, it is less well-known than foot reflexology. The fundamentals are the same: on the palms of the hands (as well as on the soles of the feet, and on the stomach), each organ, gland, and body part is shown.
The stimulation of the spots on the palm promotes calmness, relaxation, and increases the body's ability to repair itself. The stimulation is carried out through massage (without oil or lotion) and pressure with the thumb and other fingers. The most often used programs are:
- Headaches.
- Stress: hand massage brings calm and relaxation (especially for children).
- Tension due to the use of computer tools (keyboard, mouse, electronic game handles).
- Excessive control of things and events.
It is more infrequently provided than foot reflexology, although it might be helpful when working on the feet is not possible (for instance, if there is a disability).
Due to the fact that the hands are considerably more accessible than the feet, this technique is also fantastic for self-care! Korean manupuncture is an illustration of palm reflexology.
